Over the last few years we have seen a significant increase in the numbers of people enjoying the true mountain experience of "getting away from the hordes". Also, as an Aerobic exercise Ski Touring wins hands down on regular downhill skiing!
There really is something special about getting away from the crowds to enjoy your skiing in the peace and tranquility of serious, non-lift served back country. The stillness, the beauty and the real feeling of being at one with nature.
Super light skis and bindings, boots that feel as though they weigh little more than a sturdy set of Doc Martens and a light backpack to carry your survival kit, ideally the heaviest thing in it being your Avalanche Airbag System (which of course is probably the most expensive thing you'll buy, hoping never to use).
The range of kit available is vast, here at Snowfit/Revolutionz we have a good range of Touring specific skis as well as many others that skiers regularly do Tour on. A good choice of both Touring Boots and Touring bindings are also carried in stock, as well as Climbing Skins to go on your ski bases for those "uphill bits" and Avalanche Snow Shovels, Avalanche Probes and Transceivers to keep you as safe as possible in the event of being cought with your friends in an avalanche. We have both keen Touring Skiers and a keen Split Boarder on the Team so we have people who do it who can advise you in person.
