As an introductory ladies All Mountain Ski it’s extremely difficult, nigh impossible, to find a better learning tool than a set of Head’s Absolut Joy.
One of the most competent yet hugely forgiving skis our lady testers have ever skied these have been favourites for years.
A few very minor tweaks over the seasons have improved them from the original (but still excellent model), a whisker more drive but without the loss of their very important forgiveness perhaps the most noticeable.
Maybe not Quite the edge grip of a Super Joy but more than enough for the skier we would be recommending them for, one who is becoming more and more at home with a bit more speed, more in tune with varied terrain and getting to grips with a few trips off the sides of the piste or a quick dart through the edge of the trees.
Serious All Mountain skiers would be better on a Total Joy or with one of the lady’s Kore’s, but developing intermediates or early advanced level skiers will find them hard to beat and very reasonably priced for what you get.
With the absolut Joy, you are equipped with state-of-the-art gear. Its purist design is a clear understatement. Its wooden core construction makes it a powerful companion. Better beginners and advanced skiers will find their swing on any terrain. The integrated tip protector makes the ski durable and robust.
