ROME MOD ROCKER Described by Rome themselves as a "one board quiver" this is quite a claim, but having ridden it in hard pack and soft snow it is hard to imagine a terrain that this board would not excel in. Underneath the graphic the board is packed full with hidden tech making it the board of choice for riders who want a powerful and responsive snap without sacrificing float. A flat base with rockered nose and tail camber profile proves that you can have an aggressive, stable board without traditional camber. Fast groomers to spring slush jibbing it laps it up, stable enough to charge and so soft enough to play. There are lots of good snowboards out this season and then there are a few exceptional ones. The Rome Mod Rocker is definitely in the exceptional category.
key features and construction tech......
CAMBER PROFILE - FREEPOP ROCKER : A rockered nose and tail that meets a flat mid-body to create a responsive and fun all-terrain camber profile. The flat camber is stable and solid under foot, while the rocker in the nose and tail add buttery playfulness. To give the rocker more kick, Rome add tech like Bamboosters or TurboRods to help create boards that add power and response to freestyle and powder terrain. Hoss turns, float when it’s deep and ride everything with a stable, responsive feel.
TURBORODS—CARBON DOUBLE BARREL: An Rome SDS design-exclusive: two carbon rods inside sleeves are milled into the core of the board and anchored only at the end closer to the inserts. With the tips floating freely inside the sleeves, the nose and tail of the board are able to load pop and transfer energy with more dynamic.
Z-TECH 1.0: A 1-inch wide strip of Zylon that runs down the centerline of the board for maximum responsiveness and dampening.
AIRPOP CORE MATRIX : Rome add 5 zones of ultra low- density wood for lightness. Increased lightness with air channels to reduce weight.
Superlight Biax Laminate : A ultra-lightweight biax pattern helps provide an even-flexing, fun, torsional feel; perfect for boards with the other- worldly pop found in our TurboRods.
Sintercarbon Base : Pedal to the floor riding with carbon additives to help reduce friction and make the base lightning fast. A highly porous sintered base material guzzles wax to supercharge your riding.
QUICKRIP SIDECUT -- POWERFUL WHEN FAST; PLAYFUL WHEN SLOW : The idea behind Quick Rip Sidecut is to give you a board that rails turns at high speeds and a board that has a playful feeling at slower speeds. To do this Rome give you two sidecuts with the same radius, one in the mid-section of the board and one in the nose and tail regions. The intersection of these two arcs is near the bindings and creates the Mid-Board Contact Points. The Mid-Board Contact Points provide you with haul ass edge handling but when you slow down give you a fun looser style ride.
