The Latigo from Blizzard is a new option in their range this year and has already won the Gold Award from 'Fall Line Magazine'.  On our ski test we were blown away with the Latigo's performance across a variety of conditions - so much so that shop staff member Jake took it as his ski of choice for his BASI Course this summer and came back saying not only had it been admired for its performance and looks, but that he couldn't have chosen a better ski to take with him.

So what is it we like about it?  For a 78mm underfoot all mountain ski it generates noticeably more float than you might expect (in a similar way to the Scott Aztec) and with its superb edge grip gives great confidence across a huge range of slopes and conditions.  More powerful than you might expect, it is nonetheless a relatively easy ski to ride and its forgiving nature in itself inspires confidence.  The newest and narrowest 'Flipcore' ski, the Latigo is the energetic and snappier cousin to the wider freeride skis in 'Blizzard's' range.  The Latigo is lightning quick in the bumps and effortless edge-to-edge on groomers making this ski a ton of fun in a svelte, nimble package. Early rise tip and tail, with camber underfoot combines with Flipcore for an energetic, lively ride in a variety of conditions.

'Flipcore' technology is a revolutionary new rocker technology exclusive to Blizzard.  Natural spring, lightweight floatation in powder, while yet retaining excellent stability are the immediate advantages of Blizzard’s new construction. All of this is made possible by matching the core shape and the mold shape which are both produced in the final shape of the ski. The natural rocker shape is produced without having to bend or artificially shape the ski in a press. The end result is a new rockered construction that reaches a new level of stability and even pressure distribution that is unheard of in freeride ski construction We are redefining how Freeride Skis are built. Flipcore is a Unique Camber Technology that will turn the freeride world upside down.

There are some impressive new skis this year but we feel this one is definitely top three and probably the best new ski to be launched for the 2015 season.

When on-piste does the skis feel slippery or does it toggle a little bit without turning?

Good Morning and thankyou for your enquiry about the Blizzard Latigo.

We found the skis awesome in every respect and they felt very secure on piste with no inclination to "tip wander" or "toggling".  We were so impressed that in the Summer one of our staff used the Latigo for a fortnight to pass his BASI 2 Instructors course at Hintertux.

Having used them for this length on time he was even more impressed than he had been on them during a few good length runs on the ski test.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards

    John and Team at Snowfit
